We enjoyed a wonderfully uneventful weekend this weekend! This may not seem exciting to anyone else but we haven't had a free weekend in such a long time that it is quite a novelty to us. We started the weekend off with breakfast burritos and lovely walk in the rain. Claire loved splashing in the puddles and using her umbrella to make as much noise on the sidewalk as possible.
In the evening we enjoyed our first Saturday night church service. I was able to volunteer in the nursery where Claire was and was so proud of my little girl as I watched her play so nicely with the other kids and, for the first time, allowed me to hold and comfort other little ones that were upset without having a flip out of her own! When we got home from church Claire went to bed and Matt and I shared a late supper and movie night.
This morning, although it felt weird not to be going to church, we enjoyed another morning as a family. We started it off with toasted cinnamon buns and then headed off to the zoo. It was a perfect day for walking around and, because it was cool, many of the animals were out and about. It was so much fun to watch Claire enjoy the animals, her favourite being the penguins and, of course, Hudson the polar bear. My favourite part was the baby snow leopards. They are absolutely adorable! We ended the day with supper at my parents house and a little bit of HGTV. What a great weekend!
